Things to know about fall protection on sandwich panels
Sandwich elements combine several requirements placed on the roof structure in one product in a simple way. Due to their low dead weight, they are often used for industrial roofs with large spans.
Sandwich element properties
The sandwich element consists of at least two layers. A protective layer, which is usually a trapezoidal sheet, and a foamed insulating material, which must also meet the fire protection requirements. The special feature is that all layers are firmly bonded together.
The sandwich elements have a low dead weight. This is why they are often used for lightweight industrial roofs. The advantage of the low weight makes the installation of fall protection on sandwich elements a small challenge, which LUX-top has convincingly mastered with two products from its extensive range.
LUX-top® offers you
the right fall protection for sandwich panels
LUX-top® SDS is connected to the substructure of the roof. The anchor point is therefore attached below the sandwich panel to the steel or timber structure of the hall, which ensures very effective fall protection.
The LUX-top® RVT goes a decisive step further. The anchor point has been specially developed for use on negatively laid trapezoidal profiles. Its support plate has a multi-hole pattern. This means that the carrier plate has holes that can be used universally, (almost) regardless of how high or wide the belts are. The carrier plate is permanently, securely and tightly fastened to two top chords using sealing rivets.
In addition to the anchor points, the LUX-top® LS ladder safety device and LUX-top® SDH safety roof hooks are also frequently used on sandwich panels.
