What You Need to Know About Fall Protection Devices

Accessories: Everything You Need for Fall Protection Devices

When working in areas with a risk of falling, a reliable fall protection device is absolutely essential to ensure the highest possible level of safety. In addition to measures for collective protection, there are also individual systems such as rail or rope systems. These systems typically consist of an anchor device with one or more single anchor points, ropes, or rails. In addition, you need personal protective equipment (PFPE), consisting of a full body harness and a lanyard. Such lanyards are usually no longer than 2 meters and may also have two arms, each with a carabiner. In addition, there are also retractable fall arrest devices that can be adjusted to various lengths using a rope shortener. What they all have in common is that they are always equipped with an energy absorber, known as a fall arrester lanyard. This is usually designed as a fall arrester lanyard that tears open during a fall, thereby reducing the force acting on the user to a maximum of 6 kN. In our product range, you’ll find compatible original accessories for LUX-top® fall protection devices and add-ons for your PFPE! We’re the specialists when it comes to fall protection devices and would be happy to advise you personally.

Accessories for Personal Protective Equipment Against Falls from Heights

Lanyards with and without energy absorbers

Lanyards connect the full body harness to the anchor device. An integrated energy absorber reduces the forces generated during a fall. They are suitable for use in both vertical and horizontal systems. Our product line includes the following models:

Fall arrester

These devices serve as an extendable connection between the full body harness and the anchor point. Equipped with an automatic locking mechanism and an automatic tensioning and retraction mechanism, a fall arrester arrests a fall from a height. The device’s steel cable or webbing is attached to the anchor point with a carabiner. Another carabiner is used to attach the device to the full body harness of the person being secured. Due to their mechanical design, fall arresters have built-in fall arrest capability that reduces the force acting on the user during a fall to a maximum of 6 kN.

Additional Fall Protection Devices

Equipment cabinets can also be fitted with a practical tool holder, so everything has its place and you don’t waste time looking for tools.

FAQ on Fall Protection Accessories

What is the difference between a backpack and a match bag?

While a backpack is carried on the back, a tool bag can be attached to the strap of the PPE (personal protective equipment). This is helpful when working on a roof, as it prevents strain on the back and does not unnecessarily restrict freedom of movement.

What should you keep in mind when purchasing PFPE accessories?

The full body harness must fit snugly against the body, but should not restrict your range of motion. Make sure your harness fits properly and check it for defects before each use.
