The LUX-top® LST – Rail is a well thought-out complete system that combines the function of a walkway with a complete roof walkway and also serves as fall protection. It offers a convenient maintenance route on the roof and reliably protects users from falling – certified to DIN EN 516 and suitable for up to four people at the same time.
Thanks to its clever design, the roof walkway meets all the requirements of modern fall protection systems. The fall protection system can be installed as a fixed walkway on metal roofs with a pitch of up to 15°. It is a type C class K2 walkway (in accordance with DIN EN 516:2006 – with high stability, tested safety and can also be used as a horizontal anchorage device for personal fall protection equipment (PPE).
Permanently installed roof walkways are essential for recurring work on metal roofs – especially for maintenance, cleaning and servicing work. Temporary safety devices such as scaffolding or ladders are costly and do not offer permanent protection.
Only in combination with a suitable safety railing and non-slip walkways can safe working on the roof be guaranteed in the long term. With the LUX-top® LST – Rail you combine all requirements for accessibility, safety and standard-compliant design in one system. This allows you to meet legal requirements and at the same time create a safe working environment for employees or external maintenance personnel.
On metal roofs without a permanently installed roof walkway, considerable risks arise during maintenance and repair work. Employees or external specialists are forced to use temporary solutions. However, these offer neither permanent protection nor the necessary safety against falling for recurring work, especially as they are erected anew each time, which involves a high risk potential during construction.
A key risk is the increased danger of falling. Even slight roof slopes can be enough for one wrong step to lead to an accident – especially in wet, snowy or dirty conditions. In addition, temporary fall protection systems often do not comply with current legal requirements, meaning that companies can be held liable in the event of an emergency.
In addition, the lack of fixed maintenance routes results in inefficient work processes: Maintenance work takes longer, the installation and removal of temporary fall protection causes recurring costs and extends downtimes. In the long term, this can lead to higher operating costs and even affect the service life of roof systems such as photovoltaic or ventilation systems because maintenance is postponed or not carried out at all for safety reasons.

LUX-top® offers customized fall protection systems that can be optimally installed on industrial metal roofs with a pitch of up to 15° and beyond – without any roof penetration.
The LUX-top® LST – Rail was specially developed for the safe access and use of metal roofs. As a permanently installed roof walkway, it enables maintenance points such as PV systems, ventilation systems or roof drainage to be reached safely. The walkway is non-slip and slip-resistant – even in adverse weather conditions caused by rain, snow, etc. In addition to the metal roof, the roof walkway is also suitable for other roof situations such as roofs with a pitch, i.e. sloping roofs, as well as pitched roofs.
Thanks to the integrated fall protection, no additional rope protection or temporary solution is required. Users attach their PPE directly to the runner of the walkway’s horizontal anchorage device – this saves time and reduces work on site.
It is attached using clamping rails. This allows the walkway to be installed quickly and without penetrating the roof cladding. This protects the waterproofing, prevents leaks and shortens the installation time. Particularly practical: the system is compatible with many common metal roof profiles – ideal for new builds and retrofitting. Thanks to the modular design, it can be flexibly adapted to different roof geometries.

Safe access to the modules is particularly important for buildings with photovoltaic systems. PV systems must be regularly maintained, cleaned and, if necessary, repaired or replaced in order to ensure full performance in the long term. Without a roof walkway, this work is often associated with a high level of risk and incurs additional costs – for example for temporary safety devices and their attachment.

The LST – Rail is low-maintenance due to its robust aluminum construction. The construction is corrosion-resistant and resistant to the effects of the weather. Regular visual inspections and recurring inspections in accordance with legal requirements ensure long-term safety.
In contrast to conventional walkways, the LUX-top® LST – Rail is also tested and certified as a fall protection system. A separate security system is not required – this reduces effort, costs and complexity.
The roof walkway LUX-top® LST – Rail is designed for up to 4 people at the same time. The prerequisite is that all users are trained in the use of PPE (personal fall protection equipment).
